TEEM Performance Training™
was founded by exercise specialist, Derek Arledge in 2009. Derek is originally from the Washington, DC area and holds a bachelor of science
degree in Kinesiology from the
Pennsylvania State University and a master of science degree in physical
education from Bridgewater State University (Bridgewater, MA). Derek
is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through
the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a certified
personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). He has
worked at several gyms around DC and in Boston since 2003. In
addition to his training credentials, Derek is a USA Hockey certified
coach (Level 4) and has nine seasons of coaching experience spent with
the Penn State Lady Icers, Gonzaga College High School (Washington, DC),
Baltimore Stars Youth Hockey, and with Cambridge Youth Hockey
the past, Derek has enjoyed working with clients from age six to
clients in their 80's. As a personal trainer and sports performance
coach, he has worked with the busy worker, retirees, senior citizens, young athletes, high school athletes, and professional
athletes (gaining valuable experience as an intern with the New England Patriots as an intern in the 2008 off-season training and rehabilitation
Derek grew up playing
several sports, mainly playing ice hockey in the CBHL, at Gonzaga, and
with the Baltimore Junior Bandits Midget AA/AAA hockey and Junior
B hockey teams. He went on to play club hockey
at Penn State from 1998 to 2000 before stepping into coaching. Now
residing in the Greater Boston Area, Derek gained valuable experience as
a physical therapy student at Northeastern University.
Derek believes that all
individuals deserve concrete attention to their training regimens.
Outlook & Philosophy Form
and function are important and are valued with training. The fitness
often, and ideas come and go. However, anyone can engage in physical
activity. Everyone is an athlete, but everyone does not compete - it
just depends on how fast and how well you execute exercises.
It is key to your health, fitness, and athletic success. The
individuals who are motivated and seek to be students of their health
function the best. You have to ask yourself whether you want to make the
choice to be physically active, in general, or even better at your

There is no need to work your body in to complete exhaustion every time

exercise regimens are not always agreed upon with TEEM Performance
Training. But, most professionals in this industry are trying to help
people achieve new accomplishments!
